first fruits.

What we had to look at for the first three weeks in our new apartment.

But, with the help of a panini grill, we’ve learned to make do. below: our first home-cooked meal.

A co-worker of mine, at a barbecue recently, was telling Jon and myself about when he and his wife bought their first house. “We sat in the dining room,” he said, “at a card table on folding chairs. And I look across the table at her and said, ‘Shannon, I will never be as happy as I am right now.'”

Later that week, despite continual frustrations with the stove dilemma, I sat at our dining room table in front of a vase full of fresh flowers, a big ceasar salad, a tomato and mozzarella panini, and a glass of sangria.

And we were happy.
