Recently, TIME magazine published a Top 10 list of “Ideas that are Changing the World.” Number 3 on the list (right after “Jobs are the new assets” and “Recycling the Suburbs”) is–can you belive it!?–Calvinism!
In “these economic times,” as everybody seems to phrase it, Calvinism offers an interesting perspective. According to the author, we don’t have to ask why all of this is happening to us; instead, our focus should be on trusting the Lord and glorifying his faithfulness. The Calvinist heart in me warm at the tradition being shown in a better light that it typically is (predestination…sigh…).
